- Nominations Close externally: 1 June 2023
Overview
To support the advancement of knowledge and contribute to national innovation, the ARC engages an ARC College of Experts to play a key role in identifying research excellence. Its members are experts of international standing drawn from the Australian research community: from higher education, industry and public sector research organisations.
Members of the College of Experts are generally appointed for a three-year term. An induction workshop will be scheduled after appointment. Successful nominees must be available to commence in early 2024. Please note that some Selection Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings are conducted via videoconference and members must be available for these, where relevant.
Prospective nominees should be aware that membership requires a significant commitment of time, including working to specified, non-negotiable timeframes. ARC College of Experts members may be called upon to assign, read and assess, up to 150 to 200 funding applications each year. They also must attend at least one ARC SAC meeting each year and undertake assignments, assessments, and moderations in preparation for the meetings. Depending on the scheme, meetings could take from one day up to one week.
