Professor Andrew Crowden | Chair | Andrew Crowden is Honorary Professor at the University of Queensland’s School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry and an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) where he is Chairperson of the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC). He is Chairperson of the University of Queensland Ethics Advisory Group (UQEAG), an Executive member of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) Research Ethics Committee and a member of CSIRO’s Australian Health Biobank Advisory Group.

Professor Bronwyn Fredericks | Ex-officio | Professor Bronwyn Fredericks is Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement) and brings to the group experience from the tertiary sector, State and Federal Governments and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations.

Professor Craig Franklin | Ex-officio | Professor Craig Franklin is an ecophysiologist and conservation biologist, President of Academic Board and a Professor in Biological Sciences at The University of Queensland. He brings 35 years of experience in conducting animal studies.

Professor Fred D'Agostino | Member | Fred D’Agostino is Professor Emeritus of Humanities and brings to the group expertise in the ethics of social science research from a background of political philosophy and social epistemology. His recent work has been on the academic disciplines, objectivity, complexity, and diversity.

Associate Professor Jennifer Hayes | Member (External) | Jennifer Hayes is Associate Professor of Topographic Anatomy at the University of Melbourne, with over 25 years of teaching experience in anatomy. Her vast experience includes establishing the Commemorative Thanksgiving Service for the Body Donor Program, management roles in the Body Donor Program and Harry Brookes Allen Museum of Anatomy and Pathology and implementing programs for health students at several universities in Phnom Penh.

Dr David Kirchhoffer | Member (External) | David Kirchhoffer is the Director of the Queensland Bioethics Centre, bringing to the group expertise in biology, psychology and theological ethics.

Dr Anh Tho Tien | Member (External) | Anh Tho Tien has a background in science, environmental chemistry and natural resources as well as experience in the Human Research Ethics Committee.

Professor Malcom Parker | Member | Malcolm Parker is Emeritus Professor of Medical Ethics at University of Queensland, having established the Discipline of Medical Ethics, Law and Professional Practice in the School of Medicine. He was the inaugural president of the Australasian Association of Bioethics and Health Law, and was in general medical practice for over 30 years. |
Dr Lorraine Muller | Member (External) | Dr Lorraine Muller is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow and the School of Medicine and Dentistry, James Cook University. She has expertise in Indigenous Ethics and Engagement and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters as well as Australian cultural identities.

Dr Bernadette Richards | Member | Associate Professor Bernadette Richards is an Associate Professor of Ethics and Professionalism, and Director Higher Degree Research at the UQ Medical School. Until recently she was the President of the Australasian Association of Bioethics and Health Law (AABHL). She has previously worked on the Future Health Technologies Project at the Singapore ETH Centre, focusing on trustworthy data governance and held a position at Adelaide University Law School for many years. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Law at the Queensland University of Technology has contributed to several health policy committees and research initiatives. |
