This prestigious annual memorial lecture commemorates the life and valuable contribution that our colleague, Carolyn, had generously shared with all of us during her time with the School of Education. The Carolyn D. Baker Memorial Lecture is the highlight of the annual Research and Innovation Week that we celebrate at the School each September.
About the Lecture
As the Chair of the Indigenising Curriculum Working Party at The University of Queensland, Professor Bunda will discuss the theoretical positioning and implementation challenges of Indigenising Curriculum throughout the university. Drawing on key policy documents, benchmarking exercises to other universities, the centring of Indigenous expectations, setting standards for Faculty/School practice and through making clear strategies for overcoming points of percussion, Professor Bunda details the progress of the Working Party to date and outlines the agenda moving forward. The tenor of the Address will be a dialogue between colleagues who are interested and want to be informed about Indigenous core business of the university In the space of teaching and learning and the transferability of the work being done here to other places of learning.

About the Presenter - Professor Tracey Bunda
Professor Tracey Bunda is a Ngugi Wakka Wakka woman and Academic Director of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit at The University of Queensland. She has held senior leadership positions in each of the universities in which she has worked. Her research interests are inclusive of Indigenous research methodologies, Indigenous women and Indigenous storying. Professor Bunda has recently been appointed to the Australasian Strategic Advisory Board for Higher Education and is a Life Member of the Australian Association for Research in Education.
