This event discusses the initial findings of a study involving Queensland Education Research Services, Queensland Virtual STEM Academy, First Nations Solid STEM Pathways, and Independent Schools QLD regarding primary and secondary school teachers' initial reactions to and use of generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) in their teaching practice.

We present a draft prompt taxonomy of pedagogically useful prompts submitted by practising teachers developed over Term 2 2023, which will be added to and refined over Terms 3 and 4, as well as initial interview data outlining teachers' beliefs, thoughts and fears over generative AI.
