Welcome to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research and Innovation Forum!

Recognising the transformative power of narratives in conveying truths and shaping collective understanding, this year’s forum will explore research into and through stories as vehicles for truth-telling. This includes research that centres on Indigenous stories held in archives and collections (including the University's), alongside research that uses storying as a method and research which produces stories as outputs.

Held at the University of Queensland Art Museum, the Forum will critically engage with the role of institutions as holders of Indigenous stories.

Our esteemed speakers include:

  • Professor Tracey Bunda, Academic Director, ATSIS Unit
  • Professor Anita Heiss, Professor of Communications
  • Associate Professor Fiona Foley, School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry, Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences
  • Uncle Michael Williams, UQ Elder and former Director, ATSIS Unit.

Join us for a day filled with insightful discussions and networking opportunities. This event will take place at The University of Queensland Art Museum, bringing together researchers, professionals, and community members.

Don't miss this chance to engage with like-minded individuals and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in this important field. We look forward to seeing you there!
