The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC)-led Humanities, Arts Social Sciences and Indigenous Research Data Commons (HASS&I RDC) has recently received the largest ever investment in HASS research infrastructure in Australia. The $25 million grant from the Australian Government’s 2023 National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) Funding Round, along with co-investment from national partners, aims to deliver long-term, enduring national digital research infrastructure to support HASS and Indigenous research data communities in Australia.

ARDC is currently investing in six focus areas within the HASS&I RDC:

  • Improving Indigenous Research Capabilities (IIRC)
  • Language Data Commons of Australia (LDaCA)
  • Social Sciences
  • Connections
  • Australian Internet Observatory (AIO)
  • Australian Creative Histories and Futures (ACHF)

The session will showcase the work undertaken by UQ researchers across the various focus areas constituting the HASS and Indigenous Research Data Commons. It will highlight the opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaborations and for industry partner engagement.
