From Idea to Impact: Enabling Research and Innovation through ANFF Micro and Nanotechnologies - In-person event

This event introduces the Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) at The University of Queensland and showcases how world-class fabrication and characterisation infrastructure enables researchers to translate ideas into prototypes, devices, and impactful outcomes.

Attendees will gain an overview of ANFF's capabilities, access pathways with examples of how ANFF technologies are being applied in areas such as semiconductors, integrated photonics, quantum technologies, healthcare, advanced materials, biotechnology, energy, and chemical engineering. 

You can choose to attend the presentation only or, following the presentation, join a guided tour of ANFF Queensland facilities. The tour provides a unique behind-the-scenes look at advanced fabrication and characterisation technologies, as well as an opportunity to engage directly with ANFF technical experts.

Whether you are developing a new research concept, exploring fabrication solutions, or seeking access to specialised infrastructure, this event will demonstrate how ANFF can support your research journey from idea to impact.

Attendance Options

Option 1: Seminar+ Facility Tour - attend the seminar session and guided facility tour. 
Option 2: Seminar only - attend the seminar session only. 

Participants attending the tour will receive exclusive access to:

• Advanced nanofabrication cleanroom (the cleanroom tour will be conducted from the external viewing area)
• Micro and nanofabrication infrastructure
• Confocal microscopy facilities
• Atomic force microscopy (AFM)

Facility tour registration closes on 4 September 2026. Tour places are limited to 50 participants, available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are restricted to those who select the tour option during registration. Afternoon tea will be provided.
