Overview
The Australia-China Science and Research Fund Joint Research Centres (ACSRF-JRCs) program brings leading institutions in Australia together with Chinese partners to achieve economic, environmental and social benefits for Australia and China.
How to apply
Internal Selection process
As UQ can submit a maximum of two applications, and only one application per priority area, a mandatory Expression of Interest stage will be run in order to select the applications most closely aligned with the core requirements of the scheme. Given the short timeframe, we would recommend all applicants complete Step 1 below. Following the outcomes of the EOI stage, successful applicants should complete the other Steps.
Step 1: Project preparation and scheme reading
Eligible applications must have:
- a Chinese partner who has submitted a corresponding application to the relevant Chinese organisation
- an Australian industry or end user partner that can apply the research outcomes.
Please note: We are advised that the Chinese round of applications closed on 22 June 2020, so any proposal that has not already partnered with a confirmed applicant in that scheme will be ineligible.
The person submitting the application - preferably the project leader - will need an active account on the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources business.gov.au portal.
Familiarise yourself with the key Australia-China Science and Research Fund and UQ documentation.
Step 2: Completing the application
Log into the business.gov.au portal and complete the application, but leave the final Declaration/Certification pages blank to prevent premature submission to DISER without UQ authorisation.
Step 3: UQ R&I internal review and feedback
- Applications can be prepared offline and transferred to the portal in the latter stages of the review and preparation.
- To initiate internal review, email your completed Funding Coversheet, proposal, and draft attachments to UQ R&I at industrygrants@research.uq.edu.au.
- Internal review by UQ R&I/feedback provided (compliance/eligibility/grantsmanship).
Step 4: Final submission
On receiving authorisation from UQ R&I, submit your application online in the portal.
