The annual Research and Innovation Portfolio Staff Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and contributions of colleagues who exemplify UQ’s values. Recognising our colleagues in this way reflects the culture we value and aspire to cultivate within the Research and Innovation Portfolio and beyond.
As a staff member, you are invited to nominate outstanding individuals or teams from the Research and Innovation Portfolio for an award. You can also nominate staff members from outside the Portfolio in the Trusted Partner and Collaboration Achievement award categories. You may submit multiple nominations across the same or different categories, but self-nominations are not permitted.
Winners will be selected by a panel. Award selection will be based on written nominations, with consideration given to how well the nomination addresses the award criteria, the quality of the evidence provided in support of the nomination, and how clearly the nominated activities align with UQ values.
The streamlining of award categories for 2024 allows for the introduction of an additional accolade, to be awarded at the discretion of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation). This special recognition award will be based on the pool of nominations submitted throughout the year, allowing for a more personalised acknowledgment of outstanding contributions to the Research and Innovation Portfolio.

Winners will be formally announced at the Staff Awards presentation to be held immediately after the Research and Innovation Portfolio Town Hall meeting on Friday, 6 December 2024.
