MyResearch Projects

About MyResearch Projects

MyResearch Projects is UQ’s research management system for Research Grants, Research Consultancy, Contract Research and Non-funded Research Agreements.

MyResearch Projects supports researchers and the university undertake research administration and management for:

  • Online funding application certifications of grant applications and progression to the Research Office for grant application review; grant acceptance, award establishment, institutional reporting and close-out.
  • Online contract research and research consultancy application certification and facilitation of agreement negotiation and execution, institutional milestones where relevant, and close-out.
  • Online certification and activation of non-funded research agreements (e.g. confidentiality disclosure and material transfer agreements).

MyResearch connects with other UQ systems to support financial management of research projects.

What is MyResearch Projects?

MyResearch Projects is UQ’s research management system for Research Grants, Research Consultancy, Contract Research and, Non-funded Research Agreements.

Why the change?

The existing ResearchMaster system is outdated and no longer supported, creating significant operational risks. MyResearch Projects addresses these issues and offers opportunities for future enhancements to streamline administration, save time and strengthen UQ’s compliance obligations.

What’s Changing?

Researchers are already using MyResearch for Research Consultancy, Contract Research and Non-funded Research Agreements.
From March 2026, the Research Office will commence sequencing funding applications into MyResearch. (See Transition of Pre-Award certification into MyResearch Projects for further information). Progressively, the Funding Application Certification is submitted, considered, and approved through the MyResearch system, instead of through a Word Document.

What’s Staying the Same?

MyResearch does not replace broader grantor/university requirements.

Grant application “Notices of Intent” and Research Office grantcraft, eligibility and compliance reviews will continue to occur outside the system.

Submitting the Funding Application Certification through MyResearch does not replace submitting a grant to the funder through their systems.

As such, researchers and support staff will continue to submit competitive grant funding applications directly to funding bodies, with Head of Unit approvals remaining unchanged.

Organisational roles and responsibilities are not affected, and existing research policies, governance structures, and key systems, such as UniFi, TRIM, UQRDM, UQ eSpace, Pivot-RP, and RIMS, will continue to operate alongside MyResearch Projects.
