Overview 

The Advance Queensland Trusted Autonomous Systems Defence CRC (AQ TAS DCRC) Fellowship program was an opportunity developed by TAS DCRC in partnership with the Queensland State Government.

The AQ TAS DCRC Fellowship program supports researchers undertaking original work that will have a positive impact on Queensland, through early-career (ECR) fellowships ($180,000 over three years) and mid-career (MCR) fellowships ($300,000 over three years) with the requirement for 1:1 matched cash funding. 

TAS DCRC is focussed on addressing key challenges in the following areas of Trusted Autonomy-specific research:

  • Co-operative Robotics
  • Bi-directional cognitive state awareness
  • Assurance of AI and Autonomous Systems
  • Ethical Artificial Intelligence
  • Embodied Artificial General Intelligence

How to apply 

Step 1: Scheme reading

  • Familiarise yourself with the key AQ TAS DCRC and UQ documentation.

Step 2: Completing the application 

  • Complete Application Form A; Form B; and Budget Template.
  • Organise industry partner/s to provide letter/s of support and sign agreement.
  • Complete UQ letter of support template.

Step 3: UQR&I internal review and feedback 

  • In advance of internal review, ensure all online components are complete and valid. 
  • To initiate internal review, email your completed Funding Coversheet, whole Proposal, support letters, draft attachments and Cash Commitment Proforma to UQ R&I at industrygrants@research.uq.edu.au.
  • Internal review by UQ R&I/feedback provided (compliance/eligibility/grantsmanship).
