UQ researchers are required by UQ policy to submit applications for any research proposal through the RO. The Research Office, which works closely with Faculties and Institutes to support research endeavours.

For HDR students applying for external research training scholarships, the UQ Graduate School will be able to assist you.

All applications for research funding at UQ must be accompanied by a UQ Funding Application Certification form.

1. Confirm your eligibility for funding

You'll need to:

  • Read the funder's guidance to check that you're eligible to apply
  • Check if the funding opportunity is a restricted call. This means that the funder wants the University to coordinate applications or preselect who can apply. If it is a restricted call, please contact the Research Office for further support.
  • Make sure that you meet the University's criteria for being a Chief Investigator (CI)
  • Check that you have access to the funder's grant application portal
